Film censorship was a novelty when it was first introduced in local cinemas. But now, after 79 years of gratuitous hacking, blurring and pixelating of movies, it has lost any relevance it once might have had. Therefore it came as little surprise this week when the cabinet decided to replace it with a proper film classification and rating system.
